1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 145 Alive ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. What the Site Does

145 Alive is a free community platform for licensed amateur radio operators. It records and publishes details of amateur radio nets, events, net controllers, and check-in participants. Information submitted to the Site - including callsigns, grid squares, frequencies, and participation records - may be visible to other users and the general public, consistent with the open nature of amateur radio.

3. Data We Store

By registering an account, you consent to us storing the following data:

• Your name, email address, and callsign

• Your grid square and any location information you provide

• A record of nets you have controlled or participated in

• Any photos or media you upload to the Site

• Log data including IP addresses and browser information for security purposes

This data is retained for as long as your account remains active, or until you request its removal.

4. Your Right to Removal

You may request the deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Upon a verified request, we will remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days. Note that participation records may be retained in an anonymised form to preserve the historical accuracy of net logs.

5. Public Nature of Amateur Radio Data

Callsigns are issued by national licensing authorities and are considered public information. Information you submit in your capacity as a licensed amateur radio operator - including callsign, net participation, and transmitted frequency - reflects activity conducted on publicly accessible radio spectrum and may be displayed publicly on the Site.

6. Cookies and Session Data

The Site uses a single session cookie necessary for login and security. This cookie holds only an encrypted session identifier and no personal data. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.

7. Sponsor Content

The Site displays adverts from sponsors. 145 Alive is not responsible for the content of external sponsor websites. Clicking a sponsor link will take you to a third-party site subject to that site's own terms. Sponsor ad impression counts are recorded anonymously when an advert scrolls into view. No personal data is stored as part of this process.

8. Third-Party Services

The Site uses the following third-party services:

• Mapbox - net and event grid squares are used to display map markers. Your browser communicates with Mapbox servers to render map tiles. This is subject to the Mapbox privacy policy at mapbox.com/legal/privacy.

• YouTube (Google) - video content associated with nets and events is embedded from YouTube. Viewing embedded videos is subject to Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

• Font Awesome CDN - icons and fonts are loaded from the Font Awesome CDN. No personal data is passed in these requests.

9. User Conduct

By using the Site you agree that you will:

• Only register using a callsign you are licensed to use

• Not submit false, misleading, or fabricated net or participation data

• Not impersonate another licensed amateur radio operator

• Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its data

• Not use the Site for any unlawful purpose

• Not upload photos or media that you do not have the right to share

10. Accuracy

Net schedules, frequencies, event information, and participation records are submitted by users and may not always be current or accurate. 145 Alive makes no guarantee as to the accuracy of any published information. Net details should be verified through your local amateur radio community before relying on them for an actual transmission.

11. Intellectual Property

By uploading photos or other media to the Site you confirm that you hold the rights to that content and grant 145 Alive a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Site. You may request removal of your media at any time by contacting us or deleting your account.

12. Limitation of Liability

145 Alive is a non-commercial community resource provided on an "as is" basis. We accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, reliance on information published here, or interruption to the Site's availability. We do not guarantee that the Site will be available at all times.

13. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe has breached these Terms, submitted false data, or engaged in conduct harmful to the community. Participation records associated with a terminated account may be retained in anonymised form.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
